SUSTAINABLE AQUACULTURE
AQUIT creates disruptive and cost-effective biotech solutions that enhance fish immunity, improve survival rates, and replace antibiotics in aquaculture. Antimicrobial resistance is considered a global health emergency that could cost the economy over $1 trillion by 2030. In addition, researchers have found links between global warming, antimicrobial resistance, and aquaculture.
AQUIT tackles this problem by identifying and reproducing a key protein in fish that boosts natural immunity against certain pathogens. Their lab-developed and environmentally benign treatment prevents the need for antibiotics in aquaculture, which can be consumed by wild fish populations and pollute surrounding waters, whilst also improving fish survival rates and increasing yields compared to standard practices.

SUSTAINABLE AQUACULTURE
DATA & MONITORING
Blue Carbon helps the heart of the ocean start pumping again. Climate change is threatening ocean ecosystems and industries such as tourism, fisheries, and aquaculture. Blue Carbon aims to address this problem by mimicking the ocean’s natural upwelling process with whale-sized aquabots called oPods, which use renewable energy to autonomously pump cold, nutrient-rich water from ocean depths to the surface.
oPods have a versatile range of uses and can help reverse coral bleaching, revitalise kelp forests, reduce ocean acidity, and provide valuable real-time ocean data. They can also feed oxygenated water to offshore aquaculture pens, preventing the need for diesel-powered generators, or be deployed with seaweed and shellfish arrays to create Ocean Gardens that can help rewild at-risk fish populations and sequester Co2.

SUSTAINABLE AQUACULTURE
DATA & MONITORING
Ocean Intelligence harnesses the power of data in aquaculture to promote productive and sustainable practices that contribute to a prosperous blue economy, forecast to be worth $3 trillion to the global economy by 2030. Rapid scaling of regenerative ocean farming – such as oysters, mussels, and seaweed – can help humanity achieve climate & biodiversity targets, enable food security, and reduce emissions.
Ocean Intelligence’s comprehensive toolkit for marine farmers is globally relevant and locally customisable, enabling data-driven decisions and innovative practices. Its AI analytics consolidates raw data into a single platform and transforms it into actionable insights that improve the operational, financial, and environmental efficiency of aquaculture operations. Ocean Intelligence helps marine farmers optimise farm operations while maintaining healthy marine ecosystems for future generations.
SUSTAINABLE FISHERIES
DATA & MONITORING
ILLEGAL FISHING
Pinpoint Earth aims to revolutionise seafood traceability and vessel monitoring systems (VMS) for the fishing industry with their “always-on” hardware system and AI-analytics software. Pinpoint’s platform helps fishers improve operational efficiency and reduce costs by optimising routes, fuel efficiency, and catch management, whilst preventing theft or unauthorised use.
The solar-powered VMS quickly transmits location data to rescue services in an emergency, improving safety even on vessels without a power source. They’re building their ground breaking software to include persistent scanning, AI analysis, and anomaly tracking to help combat Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing. Pinpoint’s platform seeks to provide end-to-end seafood traceability that unites regulators, government, the fishing industry, suppliers, and consumers.
PLASTIC POLLUTION
DATA & MONITORING
Washbox tackles the problem of liquid waste pollutants from the construction industry entering waterways and the ocean. The fully mobile, closed-loop tool wash system for construction trades easily and automatically captures waste like paints, plaster, concrete washout, resins, and more in its filtering module.
Washbox filters and recycles wash water for reuse, its water supply doesn’t need replacing, and no plumbing connections are required for supply or discharge. As the construction industry's only Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) wash station, Washbox is eliminating pollution at the source and reducing the water typically used by construction projects by over 98%.
